EXPECTATIONS
The child is the focus of attention of both parents and teachers; both the forces work together for the improvement and welfare of the child. To avoid any clash and to be able to work more harmoniously, there are certain obligations at home and school, and the parents and the teachers have some mutual expectations regarding their children. The children also have certain expectations in the classroom and at home.

What is expected of the Golda Meir students in the Spanish class?
In this class, students are expected to…
1. …respect themselves, their classmates, and the teacher.
2. … arrive to class on time. On time means you are sitting in your seat prepared to learn. It does not mean you are just walking in the door. All classes are on the same floor unless you have a high school course (with the exception of Spanish); therefore, it should take less than one minute to pass from classroom to classroom. You have been allotted four minutes which is ample time.
3. …attend class daily. Whether you are present or not, the class will move forward. If you are absent, you will need to check the website for any missed lessons and assignments.
4. …check the website daily for assignments and updates. Do not send an email asking for the assignment. Check the website.
5. …come to class prepared mentally and physically. When you come to class, your mind should be ready to receive and process the information. You should be fully present. You should also have ALL of your materials which include writing utensils, paper, erasers, your homework, books, etc.
6. …have all assignments done ON TIME! Late work is not accepted unless you have an excused absence. You cannot bring it to me after class or after school or the next day. It is absolutely NOT ACCEPTED!
7. …not consume food (includes gum-chewing) or beverages in the classroom of any kind and that includes water bottles. If you are thirsty, please get a drink of water between classes.
8. …utilize the bathroom facilities between classes. Unless there is a medical excuse on file, bathroom passes are not given.
9. …leave the classroom as it was found or in an even better condition. Pick up your papers and garbage and place them in the garbage can.

12. …handle themselves with integrity and refrain from academic dishonesty such as cheating on a test.
13. ...succeed. Success is not based on what others are doing in the class. It is based solely on you. You are expected to work as hard as you can to succeed. This trait will be passed on to everything you do in life.
14. …remember that excuses are the tools of incompetence used to build monuments of nothingness!
