URGENT! I have taken the time this summer to make certain I provided the students with the materials and resources they need to begin planning and preparing for success this school year. Some have used Duolingo, but it is important to preview (7th graders) or review (8th graders) the other materials such as the textbook, the workbook, the guided practice book, etc.
When classes begin in September, I will proceed under the assumption that the material has been previewed and reviewed. I understand that this is summer vacation; however, it is coming to a close and it is time to begin preparations for learning. Please refer to the "to do" list which can be found at the top of the page for your class section. (i.e. Seventh graders, go to the 7th grade page, 8th graders, etc. and look at your list.)

We believe all parents want the same thing for their children: more and better opportunities for college and career. We believe in the importance of the arts, and we want our students to be great communicators, listeners and writers. Our students will be leaders who are productive, persistent, responsible, caring, and healthy members of the greater community.
This year's Spanish classes will be filled with exciting challenges as some of us begin and others continue to learn the language. Learning a second language is an exciting opportunity that is very useful in today’s diverse world. My goals this year for your child include helping him or her to develop vocabulary and knowledge of key phrases in the Spanish language and to help him or her to appreciate cultural differences as well as similarities between our culture in the United States and those of Spanish-speaking countries around the world.
The Spanish program for grades 7-8 is centered on a communicative approach that incorporates the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing that are used in everyday life. Click here to access the standards for World Languages. Please review them carefully because the students grades will be reported based on these standards.
Finally, feel free to search this site and become familiar with its pages. All information that pertains to the Middle School Spanish program will be posted on this site. If you have any additional resources you would like to share, please do so by emailing me and I will post it on the site. Remember, this effort is a group effort.
Let's have a great year!
